Our crazy move is back in full swing. After a month in Kentucky spending time with family and friends; my wife, girls, and I flew across the country yesterday. We will spend a week in Washington state, then off to Japan.
\nThough I knew it wouldn’t be easy, traveling with three kids and enough luggage to sink a small boat was much more difficult than I imagined. Our 4 am start was efficient enough, yet as the day drug on the grind got to me. It’s shocking how flabbergasted people are to see a dad carrying car seats onto a plane. After sprinting through the Chicago airport, getting puked on as we landed in Seattle, and getting in a shouting match with Seattle Airport Cop; our 15 hours of travel were over.
\nIt was painful and I am definitely not looking forward to a flight that will be twice as long next week. Yet through the difficulties I witnessed great kindness. Both flight crews were outstanding. The flight attendants helped me unload and navigate the ridiculous Chicago airport. The gate attendants we’re friendly and helped us get carts to carry everything.
\nWeighing the good and the bad, it could have been a lot worse. On a writing note, I’m hoping to begin work on my next novel and a short story series once we arrive in Japan and are settled.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
